Three Delicious Punch and Cocktail Recipes to Ring in the New Year

We’ll take a cup of kindness yet, for auld lang syne…

For auld lang syne indeed, but while we’re at it, we’ll take a cup of one of these delicious drinks as well. Whether you’re celebrating quietly with your family or hosting an extravagant blowout, these easy-to-make recipes are guaranteed to delight your taste buds while you welcome in the new year.

All recipes serve 5-8.


Lime Sherbet Punch

  • 2 quarts lime sherbet
  • 2 liters ginger ale
  • 1 (46 oz) can pineapple juice
  • slices of lemon for garnish
  • slices of lime for garnish
  • maraschino cherries for garnish


Scoop 2 quarts of lime sherbet into a punch bowl, then add in ginger ale and pineapple juice. For a boozy option, add in vodka or champagne of your choice. Garnish and enjoy!


Holiday Sparkler Cocktail

  • ¼ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 lemon wedge
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground allspice
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 5 cubes light brown sugar
  • 5 ounces brandy
  • 1 (750ml) bottle chilled sparkling wine


Mix together cinnamon, cloves, allspice, and ginger and divide evenly among 5 glasses (adjust recipe if you’d like to make more than 5 servings). Add 1 sugar cube and 1 ounce of brandy in each glass and stir until the spices are well blended. Pour in sparkling wine evenly among servings and serve immediately.

For glass adornment, rub the lemon wedge along the outside rim of a champagne flute, and roll the edge in the loose brown sugar. Cheers!


Jack Frost Cocktail

  • light corn syrup
  • shredded coconut
  • 8 cups of ice
  • 1 cup of pineapple juice
  • ½ cup blue curacao
  • ½ cup vodka or light rum
  • ½ cup cream of coconut


Blend together ice, pineapple juice, blue curacao, vodka and cream of coconut until desired consistency is reached. Dip glass rims into corn syrup and then shredded coconut for decoration. Enjoy!
